The manufacturer warns that the intercom system might cause TV or radio interference even when it operating properly. This is because the units work by intentionally putting noise in your home electrical system. At the frequency these operate, the noise generally goes unnoticed, however, it is still signal in the electrical system other than the 60Hz AC.
Electronic Info
The model uses three AC-Cap Suppresion,0.022uF 275V X2 Polypropylene Film Capacitors which are interference suppressors for across the line applications. The 'bridge' between the AC current and the onboard circuitry begins with these three capacitors. The board itself operates on 10.6V DC. The RF modulation is injected in the power cord from two poles into Black and Green on one and white (common) on the other. The hot and ground are bridged opposite two separate capacitors (2 of the 3 Suppression AC-Caps.)
