Xcom 2 Save Editor

XCOM 2: War of the Chosen released earlier last week, and many players are having a hell of a time fighting Advent. Console commands can be quite useful. Maybe you're testing a mod, or perhaps just goofing around after having completed the game. I would hope at least you're not looking because XCOM 2: WoTC is too hard.

No matter what you need console commands for, there are some that are more useful than others. And in this XCOM 2 guide, I'll go over the most useful commands that you have at your disposal, and the variables you can use with them to suit pretty much every need. But I have omitted some commands that will break or severely damage the base functions of the game, just to be on the safe side.

Search for a tag. KingMob4313 released this on Jun 22, 2017. Added settings for permanently changing the target directory. Added controls for added and removing new classes. (Latest Bugfix version is 1.5.2 - Fixed issue with override directory and level adding) Assets 3. Xcom2CheatFileCreator152.zip 821 KB. Source code (zip). An XCOM2 save is basically a dump of the history. So just deserializing that out into JSON file or a GUI app isn't enough, we really need to reimplement the history management system in some form. From the above example, there isn't just a single object with the info for one of your soldiers. Xcom 2 Save Editor Mods Specific To. OpenXcom has its own mod site for mods specific to it available here. XComHack is a VB program that can edit soldiers, bases, craft, diplomacy and global factors such as money. Pretty much everything that ClarkWehyr can do and easy to use. Xcom 2 Save File Editor AUTOFILL SQUAD: Automatically fills any empty squad slots with the highest-ranking available soldier. In addition, the soldier list UI has been reworked to display soldier stats.

How to Access the Console in XCOM 2

Before you can actually open the command console, you'll have to enable it in the first place. If you have a non-Steam version of XCOM 2, you'll have to right click your primary xcom2.exe, go to the Properties tab, and paste '–allowconsole' (Without quotation marks) into the target field box.

For Steam versions, right click on XCOM 2 in your games library, open the general properties tab , and then paste '–allowconsole' (again without quotation marks) in the set launch options box.

Once you're in game simply hit the tilde key (`) in-game and the console should show up (if you did it right). Make sure you're loading into a game first or your commands won't actually do anything.

Another thing to keep in mind is the context. Using commands to build things on the Avenger obviously won't work if you're using the command while in a fight. It's just small common sense stuff that you'll want to be aware of.

Console Commands List for XCOM 2

Cheat Commands

Before any of these commands will work, you must enable cheats using the console. To do this, just open the console and enter 'enablecheats' (without the quotation marks). After that, you're all set to 'test things out' -- cause you're not actually cheating, right?

But if you do want to veer into cheat command territory, here are the console commands for enabling some god-like modes.

Godmode CommandsOutput Process
PowerUpAll units made invincible, with unlimited ammo
TakeNoDamageAll units made invincible

Resource Commands

If it's resources that you want, there's a command for any resource, any character, and any amount. We won't list every single variation here, but the gist of these commands is as follows:

Resource CommandsOutput Process
giveresource CorpseAdventTrooper #Gives x number of corpses
giveresource CorpseAdventMEC # Gives x number of corpses
giveresource CorpseAdventOfficer # Gives x number of corpses
giveresource Abilitypoint # Gives x number of ability points
giveresource Intel # Gives x amount of Intel
giveresource EleriumCore # Gives x number of elerium Cores

There are far more commands for resources, including corpses and actual resources such as Alien Alloys. Supplies are also considered a standard supply and can be granted using this command.

To make these commands suit any of your needs, all you need to do is a little tweaking. For any resource, the command is 'give resource X #' where X is the variable resource you want added, and # is the value of how many desired.

Armor Commands

Editor
Items/ArmorOutput Process
LightPlatedArmor #x number of Spider suit's
MediumPlatedArmor #x number of Predator armor
HeavyPlatedArmor #x number of E.X.O. suit's
LightPoweredArmor # #x number of Wraith suit's
MediumPoweredArmor #x number of Warden armor
HeavyPoweredArmor #x number of W.A.R. suit's

Be aware that some armors will require corresponding research in order to function properly. Luckily, there's a console command that will instantly grant you the research you need to use any armor. 'GiveTech x' is the research command, where X stands for whichever tech you want instantly researched.

Keep in mind that you will not get voice overs or cut scenes involving research if you do this. Furthermore, there are reports of the main campaign becoming bugged if you force research on certain requirements (like forcing the Advent officer's autopsy).

Item Commands

If it's items that you need, here are the console commands you can use to grant yourself any number of them:

Items/ArmorOutput Process
AddItem BattleScanner #x number of BattleScanners
AddItem Mind Shield #x number of Mind Shields
AddItem HazmatVest #x number of Hazmat Vests
AddItem Stasis Vest #x number of Stasis Vests.

Any item usable by XCOM Soldiers can be used as a variable for this command. Simply type 'AddItem X #', where X is the variable for the item you wish to be given, and # is the amount of that item.

Weapon Commands

Of course, any console-commanded army will be incomplete without an abundance of high-octane weapons to blast their way through enemies. Here are the console codes for all the weapons mods you could need:

Weapon ModsOutput Process
ReloadUpgrade #Gives X amount of Auto Loaders
AimUpgrade #Gives X amount of Scopes
ClipSizeUpgrade #Gives X amount of Extended Mags
CritUpgrade #Gives X amount of Laser Sights
FreeKillUpgrade #Gives X amount of Repeaters
FreeFireUpgrade #Gives X amount of Hair Triggers
MissDamageUpgrade #Gives X amount of Stocks

For weapon mods the quality of the mod can be changed easily. You'll just need to add an extra parameter to your console command. For example:

  • CritUpgrade_bsc # For Basic Laser Sights.
  • CritUpgrade_adv # For Advanced Laser Sights
  • CritUpgrade_sup # For Superior Laser Sights

Soldier Class/Scientist and Engineer Commands

Soldier ClassOutput Process
MakeSoldierAClass 'X' SpecialistMakes named soldier named class

Xcom 2 Save Editor Pc

To use this command, you need to replace the X with a soldier's name, and the ClassName indicator with the name of an actual class. Just keep in mind that the name of the soldier must be in quotations for this console command to work.

It should look something like this:

MakeSoldierAClass 'John Smith' Specialist

This will make your soldier, John Smith, a Specialist. You can replace the 'Specialist' with any class in the game -- Ranger, Sharpshooter, Grenadier, etc. -- and your solider will become that class.

Note: Using this console command will demote any soldier to a squadie and strip them of all their ranks. So if you decide that your Colonel needs to change classes, you need to be prepared for that high-ranking soldier to go back to being a squadie.

Scientist and Engineer Commands

Add Scientist/EngineerOutput Process
GiveScientist #Gives 1 scientist
GiveEngineer #Gives 1 engineer

Scientists and Engineers can only be granted 1 at a time. The number value actually determines their aptitude and skill value. I am unaware of any ceiling on a skill value -- nor any adverse side effects for massive values -- so please use at your own risk.

Miscellaneous Commands

Last but not least, here's a list of some interesting commands to play around with during your game.

Editor
Input ProcessOutput Process
SkipAISkips AI turns
ToggleUnlimitedActionsAllows for unlimited actions. (Beware AI can use this too)
ForceCritHitsAll hits will be criticals (Beware AI can use this too)
TogglefowMakes entire map visible(You will still need to 'discover' enemies)
ToggleSquadConcealmentForces squad into concealment(AI will still be alerted)
RestartLevelRestarts the current mission
HealAllSoldiersHeals all soldiers while in the Avenger(does not work during mission)
LevelUpBarracks #Levels up all soldiers in Avenger Barracks by X levels.

But I'd like to advise everyone who uses even the most simple of console commands to back up your saves and make copies. You could potentially screw up your campaigns -- and I wouldn't want to see anyone lose their 'hard'-earned progress on legitimate campaigns.

While this isn't a full list of all the console commands for the War of the Chosen DLC-- because trust us, there are a LOT of them -- hopefully these are still useful to anyone looking to enjoy themselves freely.

How do I use this script?

Usually I run this script for each Squadmember and add the contents into a text file.
Then I save this text file inside the binaries folder of the game, in my case “F:GamesXCOM 2Binaries”
Then switch to the game and use the console command “exec soldiers.txt” to buff all my soldiers.
That’s it! Enjoy!
